Float Like A Butterfly, Sting Like A Scorpion Pepper
This little scorpion packs a doozy of a sting. The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Pepper originated in - you guessed it - Moruga, Trinidad. It supposedly got its name because it looks like a scorpion’s tail, but we think it’s probably because it causes excruciating pain, just like a scorpion sting. The Trinidad Scorpion held the title of “hottest pepper in the world” for three years before it was beat by the Carolina Reaper. Even if it’s not the hottest, we’d still classify this little firecracker as “advanced chili-heads only”. Our scorpion pepper hot sauces are perfect for any food that could use a little (or a lot) of heat, or you can grab some of our pure scorpion pepper powder if you think you’re tough enough.
How Hot Is a Trinidad Scorpion Pepper?
Trinidad Scorpion Peppers range between 1,200,000 - 2,000,000 Scovilles - that’s about 400 times hotter than a jalapeno, for reference. It’s safe to say this pepper is extremely hot - don’t say we didn’t warn you!
